Tesla’s Latest App Update Merges with Apple’s Shortcuts
Good news for Tesla owners who are Apple users! The latest release of the Tesla App, version 4.24, introduces an integration with the Apple Shortcuts app. This means more convenience for users who can now “control many aspects of your Tesla with Siri.” Just by saying, ‘Hey, Siri, Lock Tesla’, you can quickly secure your vehicle with just your voice.
If you’ve got a specific setting in mind, such as adjusting the vehicle’s temperature before you step in, there’s a feature for that too. Users can “create your own shortcuts to perform various actions,” simply by opening the Apple Shortcuts app.
Beyond using Siri, the app also offers customization. For instance, you can program your Tesla’s climate system to turn on daily at a set time. Setting up these automations is easy: head to the ‘Automation’ tab in the Shortcuts app and tap the plus sign.
The full list of supported vehicle controls include:
- Bioweapon Defense Mode
- Camp Mode
- Defrost
- Dog Mode
- Precondition Vehicle
- Set Seat Heater (seat position and heat level)
- Set Temperature (choose climate temperature)
- Vent Windows
- Set Media Volume
- Emissions Test
- Close All Windows
- Flash Lights
- Honk Horn
- Lock/Unlock
- Open Frunk
- Open/Close Charge Port
- Open/Close Door (Model X)
- Open/Close Rear Trunk

Exciting, right? The future of smart car control is here, and it’s voice-activated.
Via not a tesla app.
