Rivian’s Retail Future – The Unveiling of Spaces

In a move to boost its retail presence, Rivian has launched ‘Spaces’, a series of unique retail and experiential locations in the US and Canada. The Spaces, as they are called, are places where customers can have hands-on interactions with Rivian’s electric vehicles and can purchase Rivian merchandise.

The first Space will open its doors in New York City’s Meatpacking District on June 16th, 2023, and it won’t stop there. Rivian plans to inaugurate a second Space in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada at The Amazing Brentwood, with the opening date to follow soon after the New York Space, according to a company spokesperson.

The New York Space will be situated at 60 10th Avenue and will cover about 5,000 square feet. Here, Rivian will display its flagship vehicles, the R1T and R1S, to offer visitors product education and host community programs. This location will also serve as Rivian’s first on the East Coast, accompanying their Space in Venice, California, opened back in 2021. What’s more, this 10th Avenue location will set the stage for Rivian’s upcoming permanent Space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Tony Caravano, Rivian’s Senior Director of Customer Engagement, expressed the importance of this new venture, stating,

“The launch of Rivian Spaces is a key part of our next phase of growth, introducing retail sites as a primary experiential touchpoint and bringing the brand to life through an in-store experience.”

Not limiting itself to the usual retail locales, Rivian reportedly plans to expand its retail footprint in diverse ways over the next couple of years. For instance, a historic gas station in Groveland, California, is set to be transformed into a Rivian Charging Outpost, serving as an access point to Yosemite National Park.

Rivian’s new Spaces will add to its network of over two dozen service centers across the U.S. and Canada, creating a broad support and service ecosystem for Rivian owners and admirers.
