We know that Elon Musk took the Cybertruck for a spin around the Gigafactory Texas before the earnings call yesterday. Today we find out that podcast host Joe Rogan got a sneak preview of the plant, the Cybertruck but reportedly also was allowed to take it for a spin.
This morning on Instagram, Rogan shared the following photos and said:
“The Cybertruck is the coolest car I’ve ever seen in my life. Insanely attractive in real life, and feels like a huge leap into the future.”
Unfortunately, there is no video footage of either Musk’s or Rogan’s drive around the factory.
Based on the dirt on the electric truck and drone videos we have seen of the grounds around the building, it must have been fun to take Cybertruck out for a spin.
To b honest, I think the Cybertruck looks even better in these photos, which were taken inside the Gigafactory Texas where production on the Model Y recently began.
In 2020, Joe Rogan and his family moved to a new home on Lake Austin, TX, so the comedian would likely have been in the neighborhood anyway making a factory visit easy.
New photos of the Cybertruck appear on Instagram
The photos of the Cybertruck seem to be showing the same vehicle we saw earlier in these photos and video. The truck is different from the original design in that it now features one massive windshieldwiper, added sideview mirrors and ditched the doorhandles.
In the earnings call yesterday, Musk indicated that Tesla‘s focus will be in outputting existing vehicles and that the releae of new models such as the Cybertruck, Roadster and Semi would hopefully take place next year depending on the supply situation.
So as amazing as the Cybertruck looks in these photos, it remains unclear when the vehicle will be available to the public to take it for a spin in the dirt.
I’m jealous of Joe Rogan… ;-)
