Tesla Unveils Spring Release with Exciting New Features

Tesla, the pioneering electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced its upcoming Spring Release, packed with an array of exciting new features designed to enhance the driving experience. From visual updates to hands-free trunk access, this release promises to vehicles even more advanced and user-friendly.

Visual Updates and Improved Media Controls

For and Y vehicles equipped with AMD chips, the Spring Release brings immersive full-screen vehicle controls when parked, along with a revamped media player featuring large playback controls and quick access to Recents, Favorites, and Up Next. The driving visualizations have also been expanded, with a smaller map in the top right corner for trip guidance.

Auto Shift Beta for Seamless Driving

and X vehicles (2021 and later) will receive the Auto Shift Beta feature, which can now shift between Drive (D) and Reverse (R) based on the vehicle’s surroundings, in addition to shifting out of Park (P). This feature can be enabled through the Vehicle settings menu under Pedals & Steering.

Native Audible App and Enhanced Spotify Integration

Tesla owners can now enjoy the popular audiobook platform Audible as a native media app, providing a seamless listening experience. Spotify users will also benefit from the ability to sync their queue across vehicles and devices, as well as adjust playback speed.

Hands-Free Trunk Access

For Model S and X vehicles (2021 and later) and upgraded Model 3, the Spring Release introduces Hands-Free Trunk access. Simply stand still behind the trunk with your Phone Key, and the trunk will open automatically. This feature can be enabled through the Vehicle settings menu under Locks.

Sentry Mode Recording Preview

In select countries, Tesla owners will be able to preview a brief clip of Sentry Mode recordings on their phones if the alarm is triggered by pressing and holding the notification. This feature adds an extra layer of security and convenience.

Increased Regenerative Braking on Highway

Model S and X vehicles (2021 and later) will experience increased regenerative braking at high speeds, allowing more energy to return to the battery, ultimately improving efficiency.

Rear Passenger Trip Details

Rear passengers can now stay informed about the current trip details, time, and temperature, which will be displayed at the top of the rear touchscreen. This feature ensures that everyone in the vehicle is kept up-to-date during the journey.
