Arizona has just birthed a new electric marvel: the Lucid Air Sapphire. With the first production unit gliding off Lucid Motors’ assembly line in Casa Grande, it’s clear the electric vehicle game is heating up.

This past weekend, Lucid Motors revealed a glimpse of their ambitious project, showcasing the Air Sapphire super sedan undergoing the ADAS system calibration at their AMP-1 facility. Lucid’s teaser comes as no surprise. They had already fueled the industry’s excitement earlier in the summer, giving a sneak peek of a release candidate for the Air Sapphire in July 2023.

Fast forward to August 2023, Lucid dropped the bombshell – unveiling the official specs of this luxurious electric titan. Priced at a cool $249,000, the Lucid Air Sapphire boasts the title of the world’s “first fully electric luxury super-sports sedan.” Lucid further claims a jaw-dropping 0-60 mph acceleration in just 1.89 seconds, challenging the established electric stalwart, the Tesla Model S Plaid.

CEO Peter Rawlinson proudly proclaimed, “Sapphire represents the pinnacle of electric performance, finally achieving the performance that I’ve so long searched for.” He further attested to its performance, stating, “After painstaking development work, I am able to confirm Lucid Air Sapphire has achieved a satisfactory performance, and I trust the most discerning drivers will agree.”

However, if you have an eye on this beauty, act quickly. The Lucid Air Sapphire is pegged as a limited-production model, slated to hit the roads of the U.S. and Canada in the first half of 2023. In terms of price tags, it starts at $249,999 in the U.S. and a heftier $325,000 in Canada.
