Volvo Hits High Gear with 33% Sales Jump

June marked an impressive rise in sales for Sweden’s Volvo Cars, with a notable 33% increase. The boost came from a 346% surge in fully electric car sales, hitting 9,535 for the month.

As Volvo shared in their statement, the “sales increase was driven by the company’s fully electric cars which quadrupled compared to the same period last year.”

Lower production due to supply chain constraints affected June 2022 figures, Reuters reported. The car manufacturer, mainly owned by China’s Geely, saw a 70% sales increase in its top market, Europe. Meanwhile, U.S. sales jumped by 53%, but there was a decline in China.
