Jeep’s Bold Move: The Electric Wagoneer S Takes on Tesla

has unveiled its first electric model for the US, the Wagoneer S, a premium SUV with an estimated 300 miles of range. The Launch Edition, the only trim announced so far, starts at $71,995 and goes on sale this fall. More affordable versions will follow.

The Wagoneer S aims to provide a smooth and silent ride, with a 35 percent improvement in body torsion stiffness over other midsize Jeeps and a drag coefficient of 0.29. It also offers five drive modes: Auto, Eco, Sport, Snow, and Sand.
