Back in September, the EU officials began raising eyebrows, questioning if companies like 特斯拉 were enjoying undue advantages from European subsidies. It was a move to ensure a level playing field in the competitive EV market.
Valdis Dombrovskis, the EU Executive Vice President, 据报道 clarified, “It’s not limited only to Chinese brand electrical vehicles; it can be also other producers’ vehicles if they are receiving production-side subsidies.”

If evidence pointing to subsidy distortion and unfair competition emerges, it could broaden the scope of the probe, potentially enveloping Tesla and other companies with China-manufactured EVs sold in 欧洲. It’s worth noting that currently, roughly 20% of EVs sold in Europe are built in China.
