VinFast’s Electric SUV Lineup Steals the Spotlight at Montreal EV Show 2025

VinFast is set to electrify the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show (MEVS) 2025, held May 2–4 at IGA Stadium, with a commanding display of its electric SUV lineup. Showcasing the subcompact VF 6, compact VF 7, midsize VF 8, and full-size VF 9, the Vietnamese automaker is doubling down on its mission to deliver sustainable, high-performance mobility to Canadians. With test drives of the VF 8 and VF 9, attendees will experience firsthand the blend of luxury, power, and cutting-edge technology that positions VinFast as a rising star in the EV market.

A Diverse Lineup for Every Driver

VinFast’s presence at MEVS 2025, Canada’s premier EV event featuring nearly 70 models from 15 brands, underscores its commitment to meeting diverse driver needs. The VF 8, with a 116-inch wheelbase and dimensions of 187 x 76 x 66 inches, delivers 402 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque via dual electric motors. Its EPA-estimated range of 256 miles and 6.3-inch ground clearance make it versatile for urban and highway driving. The VF 9, a three-row luxury SUV, boasts a 124-inch wheelbase and dimensions of 201 x 89 x 67 inches, offering a 330-mile range and seating for up to seven, ideal for families seeking space and comfort.

The VF 6 and VF 7, though smaller, promise the same modern design and advanced tech, including Level 2 highway driving assist and a 15.6-inch infotainment screen. VinFast’s over-the-air (OTA) updates ensure vehicles stay current, though some features may require future subscriptions.

Performance Meets Practicality

VinFast’s EVs are engineered for reliability and safety, backed by a 10-year/124,000-mile warranty and access to Canada’s vast EV charging network. The VF 8 and VF 9, available for test drives, feature all-wheel-drive systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), offering confidence in diverse conditions. “We’re thrilled to return to the Montreal Electric Vehicle Show 2025 after another successful year for VinFast in Canada,” said Robert Muller, Deputy CEO of VinFast Canada. “We’re proud to showcase our expanding lineup of high-quality electric vehicles.”

VinFast’s global ambitions amplify its Canadian push. With new manufacturing plants in Indonesia and India, and a strong foothold in Vietnam, the company is scaling production to meet demand. Its “For a Green Future” ecosystem, including partnerships for charging infrastructure, signals a holistic approach to electrification.

EVXL’s Take

VinFast’s MEVS 2025 showcase isn’t just about sleek SUVs; it’s a bold statement of intent. The VF 8 and VF 9 combine performance and luxury at a price point that challenges legacy automakers, while the VF 6 and VF 7 promise affordability without compromise. For EV enthusiasts, VinFast’s rapid global expansion and robust after-sales support—think mobile service and a growing dealer network—offer reassurance in a crowded market. Yet, the real spark lies in VinFast’s vision: a world where sustainable mobility feels as exhilarating as a 402-horsepower sprint. As Canadian winters loom, the chance to test drive these EVs in Montreal feels like an invitation to join a revolution—one that’s as practical as it is electrifying.
