DHL announced a partnership with Daimler Truck and hylane GmbH to rent 30 electric メルセデス・ベンツ eActros 600 trucks for parcel transport in ドイツ, a move aimed at cutting CO₂ emissions in heavy freight. Reported by ロイター, this deal marks a step toward sustainable logistics, with deliveries expected by the end of Q2 2026.
Advancing Electric Freight Technology
DHL will lease the eActros 600 trucks through hylane, paying per kilometers driven instead of purchasing them outright. This rental model offers flexibility and reduces upfront costs. The eActros 600, designed for long-haul routes, boasts a 310-mile (500-kilometer) range, a 600 kWh battery, and a charging capability of 20% to 80% in 30 minutes, making it ideal for DHL’s cross-カントリー operations. Daimler Truck notes this segment accounts for two-thirds of CO₂ emissions in European heavy road freight, underscoring the environmental impact of electrification.

Benefits and Industry Shifts
This partnership reflects a growing trend of models for EV adoption in logistics, potentially inspiring competitors, and positioning DHL as a leader in green logistics. For EV enthusiasts, it highlights the increasing role of electric trucks in sustainable freight, paving the way for broader fleet electrification.
