DHL Teams Up with Daimler Truck and hylane for Electric Truck Rental in Green Logistics Push

DHL announced a partnership with Daimler Truck and hylane GmbH to rent 30 electric eActros 600 trucks for parcel transport in , a move aimed at cutting CO₂ emissions in heavy freight. Reported by Reuters, this deal marks a step toward sustainable logistics, with deliveries expected by the end of Q2 2026.

Advancing Electric Freight Technology

DHL will lease the eActros 600 trucks through hylane, paying per kilometers driven instead of purchasing them outright. This rental model offers flexibility and reduces upfront costs. The eActros 600, designed for long-haul routes, boasts a 310-mile (500-kilometer) range, a 600 kWh battery, and a charging capability of 20% to 80% in 30 minutes, making it ideal for DHL’s cross- operations. Daimler Truck notes this segment accounts for two-thirds of CO₂ emissions in European heavy road freight, underscoring the environmental impact of electrification.
