Die Tesla Cybertruck has recently been in the spotlight, and not for a usual reason. Can this electric pickup actually withstand bullets?
Back when Tesla first showcased the Cybertruck, they boasted about its unparalleled strength: “Cybertruck is built with an exterior shell made for ultimate durability and passenger protection. Starting with a nearly impenetrable exoskeleton, every component is designed for superior strength and endurance, from Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel structural skin to Tesla armor glass.”
Remember the armor glass? That’s the one that didn’t fare too well during a steel ball test at its debut. But now, Tesla is back to prove the Cybertruck’s mettle, quite literally.
Eagle-eyed Aryan Jain recently noticed a Tesla Cybertruck with what appeared to be bullet marks, hinting at a bulletproof test. Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, confirmed the speculation.
He said, “We emptied the entire drum magazine of a Tommy gun into the driver door Al Capone style. No bullets penetrated into the passenger compartment.”
Interestingly, it seems the testing was focused on the truck’s steel body, leaving the windows untouched.
As enthusiasts and potential buyers eagerly await more information, Tesla has planned a “delivery event” for the Cybertruck on November 30th. Here, they’re likely to spill the beans about the finalized production version of this electric marvel.
Musk hasn’t been shy in his praise for the Cybertruck, even dubbing it as Tesla’s “best product ever.”
Given the recent test, attendees might also get insights into the Cybertruck’s bulletproof capabilities. Or, at the very least, an action-packed Video of the truck facing off against a Tommy gun.
