Tesla Model Y: California’s Coolest Creation

Kalifornien is home to countless innovations, but this year, the Tesla Model Y has been named the cream of the crop. The California Manufacturers and Technology Association (CMTA) hailed this electric beauty as the “Coolest Thing Made in California”. And given the competition, that’s no small feat.

Starting in August, Californians voted for their top pick from an impressive list. This included the James Webb Space Telescope – the mightiest ever launched in late 2021. It also had contenders like the tantalizing Carmazzi Carmel Corn popcorn and the rapid satellite mission, Victus Nox.

However, the Model Y, with its “sleek design, top-class technology, and high performance,” won people’s hearts. Boasting up to “326 miles (525 km) on a single charge” and a swift 0 to 60 mph acceleration in just “3.5 seconds”, it’s no surprise why.

While Tesla’s portfolio features the Model 3, Model S, X, Cybertruck, and Semi, it’s the Model Y that shone the brightest this year. The cherry on top? The California Lieutenant Governor Berichten zufolge announced the accolade at a CMTA conference. For those in Canada, there’s even more good news – Tesla just brought back the chic white interior option for the Model Y.
