Tesla Triumph: Semi Truck Achieves Remarkable 1,076-Mile Day

Tesla Sets New Standard in Run on Less EV Trucking Study

As the world looks toward sustainable solutions, Tesla is at the forefront, showing how green can also mean efficient. Tesla’s Semi truck recently completed an impressive 1,076-mile journey in a single day. This achievement came during its participation in the “Run on Less” EV trucking study – a significant investigation into electric vehicles’ role in commercial logistics.

Run on Less is a three-week event evaluating 21 electric trucks’ capabilities. Its objective? To understand the advantages and potential challenges in electric vehicle trucking. As the commercial sector moves towards more sustainable vehicles, this study is timely and crucial.

Among the featured vehicles were three units of Tesla’s Semi, accompanied by commercial vehicles from brands like Ford, Freightliner, Volvo, and GM.

Earlier in the study, the Tesla Semi had impressed many by covering 794 miles in one day According to Teslarati. This feat was followed by another strong performance the next day, resulting in 1,600 miles over two days.

Yet, on the study’s final day, the Semi outdid itself by covering 1,076 miles in just one day. Remarkably, this distance was achieved with a single delivery, with the truck spending a whopping 81.8% of its time on the road. Data from Run on Less reveals that only 11.1% of the time was dedicated to charging the vehicle.

Evan Chenoweth, a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer for the Tesla Semi, proudly stated, “A Tesla Semi covered 1,000 miles yesterday. This is just the beginning; electric trucks will continue to replace dirty, polluting diesel trucks over the coming years.”

The data also showed that the Semi maintained considerable speeds during its journey. It traveled at least 50 miles per hour for 92.6% of the time.

Tesla’s achievements in the Run on Less study highlight the future of sustainable commercial transport. The electric truck’s capabilities to cover vast distances without frequently charging set a new benchmark in the industry. Tesla once again proves that a sustainable future is not just possible – it’s on the horizon.
